"I'm Only Me When I'm With You," Taylor Swiftįrom her self-titled debut album, Swift’s real life bestie Abigail Anderson inspired this song. “We’re Going to Be Friends,” The White StripesĪn elementary school-befitting rhyme scheme and simple melody make this jingle a throwback nod to some of our earliest playground friendships. “Graduation (Friends Forever),” Vitamin CĬhildren of the late ‘90s and early aughts already knew this one was coming. Behold the truly excellent line: “Bitch, please, that kind of crass virtue-signaling is nothing but a less overtly nefarious form of toxic masculinity.” 19. The first 30 seconds of the music video alone, in which real-life pals Saweetie and Doja Cat read each other’s thoughts as a dude mansplains objectification to them, should land this song on any bestie song list. If King herself wasn’t enough of a draw, we’re pretty sure the Gilmore Girls-theme associations will add a sentimental spark to your playlist. You were expecting “With a Little Help From My Friends,” and that works, too! But this one’s just too tender to pass over. That makes it an even sweeter BFF anthem for blood-related best friends. “Best Friend,” Brandyīrandy dedicated this song, off her self-titled debut album, to her younger brother and fellow singer, Ray J. (Plus, we know you’re really thinking about that one scene from The Perks of Being a Wallflower here.) 15. "Heroes," David BowieĪlthough “Heroes” may have been inspired by the sight of Bowie’s producer kissing his girlfriend against the then-active Berlin Wall, it’ll add a solidly triumphant note to any BFF playlist. Aaliyah)īest friend lyrics like these will resonate for anyone who’s ever hoped (and hoped, and hoped) their BFF will get out of a no-good relationship. (Related: Why, pray tell, did so many of us want to be Baby?) 13. Oh, the days of choreographing playground dances to this ditty and fighting over who got to be Baby. One of the most beloved best friend songs out there, this Motown classic is an especially sweet pick for BFFs separated by distance. “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell New Orleans rapper Tokyo Vanity went viral in 2015 for this supremely Insta- and Vine-friendly hit, and the tutu-filled music video will make you want to be her best friend. Put it on while eating midnight cheesecake with your own Dorothy-Blanche-Rose-Sophia crew. It’s the Cynthia Fee cover, though, that’s best remembered as the theme song for The Golden Girls. Gold wrote this song in 1978, dedicating it to his musical partner Brock Walsh. “Thank You For Being a Friend,” Andrew Gold Sure, this song may technically have been inspired by bassist John Deacon’s relationship with his wife, but it’s lived on as a bestie anthem ever since. It’s a pure-hearted ode to the best person you know and one of the catchiest friendship songs ever. If you’ve seen the MTV show Rob & Big, you’ve heard this song. Flying down the highway, dressed to kill, and ready to take on whatever the night brings. Selena Gomez tackles the energy of a girls’ night out in this song. Livin' like there's nothing left to lose.” It’s the carefree kind of vibe between kindred spirits, in a single song. This song tackles those friendships that begin as a bond between outsiders. Bruno Mars sings about the tight bond among best friends, namely the people who will “sail the world to find you.” But it’s this line that really gets us: “We'll find out what we're made of when we are called to help our friends in need.” Cue the tears. When it comes to songs about friendship, it doesn’t get much sweeter than this one. So go and let it all hang out tonight”-these are words straight from a friend who would be just as comfortable watching you cry into your ice cream or going out for a night of fun. “I know he did you wrong, we can make it right. Simultaneously tackling heartbreak and serving up “forget that guy, I’ve got your back” vibes, Lizzo created a BFF anthem with this one. It’s the perfect song to send a friend who’s going through a rough moment. The lyrics are words of comfort that anyone could benefit from when they’re feeling especially alone. This particular song was written during a time of loneliness for Mariah Carey, during a particularly tough marriage. “Any Time You Need a Friend,” Mariah Carey I'll be there for you, ‘cause you're there for me too.” 2. I'll be there for you, like I've been there before. The chorus is a lesson in “how to write best friend lyrics”: “I'll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour. It looks like the kind of anime bobbins that might drive me spare, but it's also got big trees, airships, and combat in which everything glows. On one hand, Im excited that PlatinumGames helped Cygames to develop the combat gameplay for Relink. Being able to marry his love of writing with his addiction to video games was always one of his life goals. Cygames are best known in the west for their collectible card game, Shadowverse, but most of their output is Japan-only mobile games developed alongside the likes of Nintendo. They left the project in 2019, leaving Cygames as its sole developer. Granblue Fantasy Relink Developer Reveals Massive New Motion Capture Studio. I called its combat reminiscent of Platinum Games, but I'm drawing that connection mostly because Platinum Games worked on its development for several years. The gameplay showcases several of the playable characters in action, including, Charlotta, Yodarha (who weren't shown before), and Narmaya, who has been revealed as playable earlier today alongside a brand-new trailer. Granblue Fantasy Relink Developer Reveals Massive New Motion Capture Studio. Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story releases next week, November 16th - Rhythm Runner game developed by BIT. That's mainly because it counted Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu and art director Hideo Minaba among its developers. The original Granblue Fantasy was a JRPG mobile game only released in Japan, but that didn't stop enterprising westerners going to the effort to play it. When sounded, each fundamental pitch produces a predictable set of harmonics. The pressure waves which result from the strings you strike, cause the one you are holding to vibrate as well. You will hear multiple pitches sounding all from the same string. With that key still held, strike higher octaves of the same note with a strong attack. By doing this you are lifting the pad that mutes that string, allowing it to vibrate freely. To hear it for yourself, sit at the piano, and press a key very gently so it doesn’t make a sound and hold it. Since the piano is made up of many strings, tuned to different frequencies, pressing one key will cause other notes within it’s harmonic series to sound as well. If you have access to an acoustic piano, there’s a really simple exercise you can do to hear these overtones for yourself. We call the originating frequency the “fundamental tone” and each of the secondary tones are called “overtones,” or “harmonics.” Hear it for Yourself For example, a string vibrating at 440hz will also produce a secondary vibration at double it’s frequency, 880hz, as well as others at higher multiples (3x, 4x and so on). When played in nature, a single tone played by an instrument will produce several additional pitches which are related to it mathematically. A Single Pitch Will Also Produce Overtone Pitches This shortens the string, changing it’s tension, which raises the pitch. A guitar player can change the pitch of the string while playing, by pressing the string against the fretboard. A guitar has six strings, each tuned to different pitches by tightening each string individually. This is exactly how a string instrument like a guitar works. The higher the strings tension, the faster the waves that it produces, which creates a higher pitch. When plucked, that string vibrates creating a wave pattern. Picture a string pulled tight between two points. Modern day standard tuning is based on a standard of A = 440hz, which is to say the note with a frequency of 440 cycles per second would create an “A” pitch. Sound waves are measured by their frequency - the number of cycles each sound wave makes over time. But, understanding these fundamental ideas really helped me explore my playing and expand my appreciation of music. This may sound like nerdy scientific mumbo-jumbo, and you may wonder why you should care about the inner workings of sound when you could just focus on which keys to press on your instrument. After all, unorganized sounds are just meaningless noise, whereas music is created through creative organization and compilation of sound.Īs we will learn, the overtone series sets the stage for all the major components of modern music, from pitches, to chords, scales and even determines why a trumpet sounds different from a guitar. The set of resulting pitches form the basis for everything we do as jazz musicians.įundamentally, all western music, including jazz, is rooted in the overtone series. The overtone series is a natural phenomenon in which a single pitch produces multiple additional harmonic pitches through mathematical divisions. Faster waves produce higher pitches, while slower waves produce lower pitches. Those waves produce changes of pressure in the air, and our ears interpret those pressures as different pitches. In its most basic sense sound is made up of waves. We appreciate your feedback regarding the room size, and we apologize if it did not meet your expectations. ACE makes a point that they don’t add a StubHub fee, which isn’t chump change. You can pick up tickets that you’ve ordered there at no extra charge. One great advantage of Ace is their prime location, in the path from the Kenmore station to Fenway. This was the case in the game I just described…and the third party I used offered me a slightly better price.Īs far as Ace Ticket…they’re well known in Boston, and are actually pretty good as ticket resellers go. But in some cases, you may find the very same or similar seats offered through another third party. Here’s a key tip: being MLB’s official ticket reseller, StubHub usually has the biggest selection of third party tickets, and you may find a deal there. But always check, especially for low demand games, because you may find a steal like I did. I’m not claiming you’ll always find cheap Red Sox tickets with TickPick or another third party. In the past, I went through a third party site and got a pair of Right Field Box seats for $26…and the list price for this was $87! Full disclosure, this was a weekday May game against Oakland. That’s why I’ve made them an affiliate… click here to try them out, and let me know what you think! I’m a big fan of TickPick they have a best price guarantee, there’s no fees (and no one likes the fees), and they even offer a buyer’s trust guarantee if your event gets cancelled. They outsource their ticket sign holding, and pass the savings on to you! Cheap Red Sox Tickets From 3rd Parties – StubHub, SeatGeek, Ace, Etc… If you don’t like your seats…and at Fenway, that’s a distinct possibility…you can upgrade them through the app if something is available. You can now enter Fenway by scanning the tickets on your phone, if you have MLB’s Ballpark app (and you should). Remember, subscribe to the Red Sox newsletter first. Again, get on any pre-sales you can for Yankees games or July or August weekend games. Typically the cheap Red Sox tickets sell out fast, so the Sox make lower demand games available first, such as April and May weekdays. The Sox website is best for when you don’t live close and want a high demand game. For high demand games you might be better off using the box office if you can, even on game day…for low demand games you’ll probably find a better deal with a third party. Remember there are fees for buying on the website, and they’re ridiculous. The Sox have a nifty 3-D seating map on their website, featuring a scale picture of Fenway with clickable sections, panoramic views and prices from each section…but just so you know, they don’t reveal obstructed views. The newsletter will let you know about this too.Ī color-coded Fenway Park seating map, with appropriately red-colored “sunburn sections”. That also saves you the time and boredom of waiting in line for Game Day tickets (more on that in a bit). It doesn’t happen often, but on occasion, the Red Sox waive ticket buying fees, and that’s a considerable amount of savings. The newsletter will also alert you to Green Monster ticket sales well ahead of time, and it’s probably the easiest way to get your hands on those too. You can jump on pre-sales and get tickets at face, which is usually as cheap as you’ll find, especially for weekend contests. The e-mail newsletter is especially useful if you want to see a game against the Yankees. Students get standing room dirt cheap at most games, for example. But in many cases buying Red Sox tickets at face value is the cheapest way to get them, and the newsletter will help you with that…you’ll know about pre-sales, Sox Pax, Christmas at Fenway events, group tickets, fan clubs, military and student discounts and much more. It’s not so much that the Red Sox offer a lot of ticket deals, although there are some. Transportation is not provided.ĭue to the limited number of tickets available there will be a maximum of five tickets per household.Ĭlick the Special Events tab and fill out the “Special Event” registration form to request your tickets.“Get ya wicked smaht Red Sox news heah!” If You Want Cheap Red Sox Tickets, Do This NowĪnytime you’re planning to go to a game, it’s always a smart idea to subscribe to a team’s ticket alert newsletter, and the Red Sox ticket alert is no exception. The Braves and Astros games start at 7:10pm. Bleachers - Section 43, Rows 4 through 6. Houston Astros on Monday, August 28th.Atlanta Braves on Tuesday, July 25th, Bleachers - Section 43, Rows 4 and 5.Therefore, all tickets will be sent to you via a link to download on your smart phone. Please note that Fenway Park has gone paperless on tickets. Seats for all three games are excellent lower bleachers in section 43 and are available for Attleboro residents only. The Attleboro Recreation Department is pleased to announce the availability of a limited number of tickets to see the Boston Red Sox in three games this season. |
